Burnt Oak Primary School

Art

Art lessons help children develop visual thinking and creativity.  Children are taught skills appropriate to their age and ability. They gain confidence in analysing and recording the world around them and expressing their ideas through shape and form, colour, line, pattern and texture.  Children are encouraged to value their own work and that of others.  Art is often linked to other subjects and helps skills develop across the curriculum.

Artsmark Award 2023:

You've achieved an Artsmark Silver Award!

Burnt Oak Primary School is very proud to have been awarded the Arts Mark Silver Award. The Arts Council has recognised that there is a wide range of arts activities and clubs on offer. We strive to give all children equitable access as these activities help increase our pupil’s confidence in creativity and ultimately throughout the rest of the curriculum.
