Ready Steady Cook
The pupils enjoyed watching and participating in a READY STEADY COOK style workshop. The idea of the session was to showcase two dishes that were on the school lunch menu, enabling the children to identify the ingredients and the nutritional value of these meals.
Two teachers were chosen to lead the teams, red and green, Mrs Mackintosh and Mr Brooks-Smith. Each teacher choose two pupils to assist with the challenge. Each group was supplied with a recipe card and the ingredients needed to create a different dish. A time limit of 20 minutes was set to create the meal. The audience encouraged the teams at each step of the way.
Finally, pupils from the rest of the school were invited to taste the finished dishes and voted for the winner.
The red team lead by Mr Brooks–Smith were declared the winners.
