Burnt Oak Primary School

Alien Invasion Week

Pupils of Burnt Oak arrived at school on Monday morning to find a spaceship crashed onto the playground. It generated a lot of interest and questions.

As the week progressed more and more evidence emerged as to who or what could have been in the spaceship. Green slime was spotted on the playground and hanging from nearby trees. CCTV footage showed two alien like creatures ransacking the school corridor looking for something. Each class received a note from the aliens asking the children to help them find their babies and a search for alien eggs commenced. Once the eggs had all been successfully found they were looked after and returned to the crash site. Mysteriously at the end of the week the spaceship flew off and this was caught on CCTV.

The children had a great week studying stories with an ‘Alien ‘theme. They also had a visit from a storyteller, Hannah Brailsford, who made up and told them Alien stories accompanied by percussion. A local dance teacher visited and children took part in dance workshops around the theme. Finally at the end of the week the children dressed-up as Aliens and had a special themed lunch.

A lot of fun was had by all!
