Burnt Oak Primary School

Hands Week

On 21st of May 2014 we had our creative week on the theme of HANDS. Throughout the week the children took part in a range of activities to do with HANDS.

We were taught how to do sign language as well as learning the Braille alphabet. Some of the pupils were able to use a Braille machine to write and then read what each other had written. Students from Mid Kent College and a physiotherapist visited and demonstrated manicures as well as hand massages, which we then did on each other.

We were lucky enough to take part in both drumming and Bangra dancing workshops which all the pupils enjoyed.

Alongside these activities the whole school participated in creating an outdoor mural for our playground using our handprints.
