This year we have been developing PSHE to include lots of drama in the classroom to explore friendship, jealousy, peer pressure, change, anti-bullying and healthy living.
Other activities this year have included:
Visitors to the school have encouraged children to have increased self esteem and confidence. The children had great fun exploring the character NED and how to become 'a good friend'.
Year 6 went to Mid Kent College for 'Safety in Action Day' and explored issues that included Road Safety, Drugs Awareness, First Aid, Alcohol and Safety around electricity in the home.
Aware of the difficulties that uncertainty can bring on, children in Year 2 have buddied up with Year 3 to help them become familiar with the routines and adults in Key Stage 2.
A successful transition meeting for parents of children moving from Foundation Stage to Year 1 took place where they met Miss Wise - Phase Leader of Key Stage 1 as well as some Year 1 children who explained the transition process and what they had thoroughly enjoyed in school this year.
On our first day back in September the whole school took part in an anti-bullying day. Children were able to share ideas and promote our successful anti-bullying project so far through drama, film and music.
